Office Fire Drill
Title: MNWD Fire Drill Conducted
Life is precious; let not human-made disaster take it away because we are unprepared and uninformed.
This was one of the reasons why the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) initiated a company fire drill last February 26, 2016 under the supervision of the Naga City Bureau of Fire Protection headed by Fire Chief Inspector Alberto D. De Baguio held at the MNWD premises.
The activity enlightened the employees about fire prevention, safety, suppression and evacuation, applicable not only in the office but in their homes, or any edifice.
The first part of the event was the fire drill orientation which tackled the topics on the Elements of Fire, Classifications of Fire, the different Kinds of Fire Extinguishers, Rules in Fire Fighting, and Fire Prevention/Safety Tips.
Ten (10) minutes after the lecture-orientation, the emergency alarm was activated and the emergency evacuation drill followed wherein employees and customers willingly participated.
Employees were also trained on actual handling of a fire extinguisher by just remembering the acronym P.A.S.S. which stands for Pull, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep.
This event was also in preparation for the observance of Fire Prevention Month being annually observed during the month of March pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 115-A issued last November 17, 1996 aimed to provide education and awareness during the summer months to lessen the incidence of fire in the country.
