Newly-Acquired Equipment for January 2017
The Metropolitan Naga Water District continue to improve the way it serves its customers with the acquisition of new equipment to improve its operations. Two of the newly-acquired equipment are the Doosan Air Compressor and the Johnson Heavy Duty Drill Press.
The Air Compressor will be used for well re-development and maintenance including concrete-breaking for pipelines and related structures excavation works. This Air compressor will be used by the District’s Production Division to blow debris, sand, and other particles that may cause clogging in the production wells. Clogged wells and screens reduces the discharge capacity of the well, contributing to water shortage. Siltation (a process by which water becomes dirty as a result of fine mineral particles in the water) may also occur when the wells and well screens are not rid of the accumulated foreign particles. Air lifting, air surging, and air jetting may be done using the air compressor to restore and maintain the discharge capacities of production wells and to ensure the clarity and purity of the water.
The Drill Press is an important equipment to aid in the fabrication of fittings and appurtenances. This equipment is used to drill holes for bolts and screws to customize pipe elbows, saddle clamps, sleeve couplings, flanges, etc. for the repair, maintenance, and interconnection of water lines.
These equipment will surely improve the District’s operation and its service to the public.
