MNWD’s Public Awareness Campaign for Mt. Isarog: What should we do?
To drum up public support, contests in line with the Public Awareness Program of the water district were held in November led by the District’s Engineering and Environment Department (EED). Students from academic institutions in the area of the Mt. Isarog Natural Park participated in the four different Public Awareness Campaign Contests as follows: Poster Making, Mascot Design Making, Photo Walk, and Video Making.
The Poster Making Contest was open to high school students. Twenty-two (22) youngsters from 22 different schools drew and painted their hearts out on the 21st of November, 2016. Their colorful works were judged based on Creativity, Expression of Emotion, Relevance to the Theme, and Overall Impression. Art Vincent P. Enciso of Goa National High School emerged as the winner.
The Mascot Design Making Contest was open to college students in the same area of Mt. Isarog Natural Park. The four finalists were judged based on their works’ Originality, Design, Child Friendliness, and Significance to the District. Ronilo V. Barbado of the Partido State University with his Mascot named Isay, won the contest.
