MNWD supports PRC’s Million Volunteer Run
Now on its fourth year, the biggest humanitarian run organized by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) aims to further grow the PRC’s already extensive network of volunteers nationwide.
To push this advocacy, a fun run was held simultaneously in more than 50 PRC chapters nationwide including Camarines Sur Chapter. On October 21, at 5:00 in the morning, hundreds of runners joined the Million Volunteer Run which started and finished at the SM City Naga grounds.
The fun run drew participants from academic institutions, running enthusiasts, government and corporate employees, humanitarian workers and volunteers, including MNWD personnel who ran together for one goal.
The proceeds from the fun run will help PRC upgrade and expand its fleet of emergency vehicles and equipment that are always ready to respond to any disaster. The Million Volunteer Run assured more people of help in times of disasters, swift assistance to the most needy, and helped raise awareness for people to be more prepared, resilient, and respond quickly to disasters and calamities.
The PRC continuously maintains a high level of readiness in rescuing people in distress, providing quality life-saving assistance to help them get back on their feet, and building a self-help community.
