MNWD signs MOA with SSS
Pursuant to its basic mandate to providing social security protection to all self-employed Filipino workers against the hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies, the Social Security System (SSS) inked a memorandum of agreement with the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) for the benefit of interested contractual and job order personnel.

Under the Expanded SSS Self-Employed Program, contractual and job order personnel in the employ of the government but not coverable by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) can be covered by the SSS.
AGM Virginia I. Nero representing the MNWD and Naga Branch Head Engr. Virgilio A. Santiago representing the SSS agreed to pursue and support the coverage of contractual and job order personnel at the MNWD as Self-Employed members/contributors under the amended Social Security Law.
