The Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) recently held its Media Forum 2018 last December 14, Friday at the Moraville Hotel, Dinaga Street, Naga City.

With the theme “Strengthening Partnerships Towards Effective Public Communication,” the forum was participated in by the MNWD Board of Directors headed by Chairman Jorge T. Palma, the Management Committee led by General Manager Virgilio B. Luansing I, and media personalities from different radio and television networks.

The forum showcased the accomplishments and awards of MNWD for the year 2018, including its flagship and future projects. Among the flagship projects presented were the Septage Treatment Facility, Bicol River Surface Water Treatment Facility, and MNWD Institute for Water Education. On top of that, the MNWD also commits to ISO 9001:2015 certification of its core processes for 2019.

Conceptualized primarily to drive effective communication process of public information, the forum also addressed the pressing challenges in the water sector specifically experienced within the MNWD service coverage area.

As mentioned by Engr. Luansing I, MNWD has veered away from being conventional to being actors of innovation hence, the proactive approach in developing practical solutions to ensure water sustainability. These solutions as explained, underwent critical studies and extensive discussions to guarantee accessibility and availability of potable water to all consumers year-round while maintaining the balance with our natural resources.

Apart from the presentation of the flagship projects, the MNWD Board of Directors also emphasized the role of the media in the effective implementation and delivery of information to the public. The MNWD Media Forum 2018 enjoins all the media networks to become partners in the protection of our water resources and extensive dissemination of MNWD’s objectives.
