Integrating the Community to MNWD’s Services via Urulay-ulay sa Barangay
Through the Customer Services Division (CSD) headed by Division Manager Ricardo B. Felix III, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) started the conduct of “Urulay-ulay sa Barangay” or the Stakeholders Forum slated from July to December 2019 in all barangays within the MNWD’s service jurisdiction: Naga City, Camaligan, Canaman, Gainza, Magarao, and Milaor.
Urulay-ulay sa Barangay is a pioneering initiative of the MNWD launched morning of July 3, 2019 in Barangay Cararayan, Naga City participated in by about 200 residents and Barangay Officials with the support of Brgy. Captain Rodrigo B. Agravante, while the afternoon session was for the residents of Barangay San Felipe through the assistance of Brgy. Captain Alfonso R. Rodriguez attended by more than 100 residents.
The forum hopes to address a myriad of concerns including access to safe and potable water in every household, protection of our water resources and the environment, and unfamiliarity with the services offered by the MNWD. It also involves discussion about MNWD’s upcoming projects and the procedures and requirements for new water service connection and reconnection application.
For more than a month in the running now, the Urulay-ulay sa Barangay has already been conducted in 18 barangays. Joining CSD in the conduct of the said event are representatives from the Pipelines and Appurtenances and Maintenance Department (PAMD), Engineering and Environment Department (EED), and Production Department (PD).
It is also good to note that application for new water service connection has been made easier. Future application can now be accepted even without the proof of ownership provided that a Barangay Certificate is secured.
MNWD through Urulay-ulay sa Barangay serves as an avenue for our stakeholders to gain access to our services, the same manner that MNWD is given the platform to bring its services closer to the community. (Auria S. Gonzales)
