Human Resource Division promotes awareness on BPH
Studies shows that male adults over 40 years old are prone to acquire Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) which, if left untreated will lead to prostate cancer. In order to prevent such condition, a Digital Rectal Examination (DRE) was being conducted to a male patient in order to check the health of a man’s prostate gland. It is a simple procedure doctors used to examine lower rectum and other internal organs that detect conditions like an enlarged prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) and early signs of prostate cancer.
In cooperation with GENACE PHARMA, a free BPH Screening targeting the 40 years old and above male employees of Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) underwent the said screening at the Infirmary and Breastfeeding Area on August 10, 2017 (Thursday) at 1:00 – 2:00 in the afternoon conducted by Dr. Rosito Bascuña, a licensed Urologist.
The said screening aims to promote and ensure the well-being of MNWD male employees as well as creating awareness about BPH. MNWD was lucky enough to be one of the sponsored companies who availed this health program.
