As two of the District’s board members ended their terms, a new pair was welcomed by the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD), Atty. Sarina Rosa G. Co and Engr. Leon B. Palmiano IV, representing the Women and Education sectors, respectively. Like always, the public is guaranteed that they will be served by no less than individuals who are experienced, qualified, and reputable in their fields.

Atty. Co, a member of the Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (FIDA) – Camarines Sur Chapter, was nominated by the said organization to represent the Women Sector in the MNWD Board. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and studied Law at the University of the Philippines (UP), graduating in 1987. She then proceeded to work as an Assistant City Prosecutor at the City Prosecution Office – Department of Justice for nine (9) years and subsequently took the role of Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Judge at MCTC Ragay – Del Gallego until January 6, 2022. Being a seasoned administrator of justice, Judge Sarina is a valuable addition to the Board of Directors.

Meanwhile, representing the Education Sector is Engr. Palmiano, nominated by the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC). He is a graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology (1982), a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UNC (1999), and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering) from UP (1992). He then worked for several administrations, such as the Naga City Government (26 years, since 1993) and UNC (39 years, since 1983) where he currently works as the Vice President for Administration and Auxiliary Services. He was also previously affiliated with the Provincial Engineers Office, a couple of review centers, and an engineering firm. To date, he is privately practicing as a Civil and Junior Geodetic Engineer. Truly, a man of experience, not just in the academe but more importantly in the field of Engineering.

As part of the yearly proceedings, the Board of Directors had an election of officers with Dir. Gilbert N. Albero as the Chairperson while Engr. Emeterio L. Aman as the Vice-Chairperson.

MNWD and each employee that forms it is deeply honored to be working under a fresh set of leaders. The District is yet again, provided with new perspectives in the process of making strides for the betterment of the water utility service in the region. (YMMSavilla)
