Commercial Services Department Spearheads Tsinelas and Hygiene Kit Distribution
Apart from the MNWD 40th year celebration kick-off event at Palmera Village Resettlement Site last April 12, 2019 followed by the Bloodletting and “Himig ng Kabataan Para sa Kalikasan at the Naga City Ecology Park last June 28, 2019, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD), through the Commercial Services Department (CSD) under the leadership of Department Manager Virginia I. Nero, spearheaded “Tsinelas and Hygiene Kit Distribution” on July 26, 2019 at Dugcal Elementary School in Camaligan, Camarines Sur.
Supported by the School Principal Marcela Isabel M. Cordez and faculty of the Dugcal Elementary School, hundreds of pupils filled the covered court for the activity, spearheaded by Committee Chairperson Shirley B. Peña, Customer Accounts Division Manager.
More than 200 bags of personal hygiene kits were distributed including slippers and 17 bags of first aid kits were given to the teachers. The activity was inspired by recent studies which revealed that basic needs of humans does not only include water, food, clothing, and shelter but also, education and sanitation. On top of this, the activity was designed to support the Nutrition Month celebration with the theme “Kumain nang wasto at maging aktibo… push natin ‘to!”
With Dir. Agileo Michael R. Pauig in attendance on behalf of the MNWD Board of Directors, Assistant General Manager Emma A. Cuyo and DMA Jeremias P. Aban, Jr., representing General Manager Virgilio B. Luansing I, the event emerged as a huge success. Pupils from Grade III to Grade V enjoyed the segments prepared for them including the appearance and interaction with MNWD’s official mascot “Isay” and Jollibee.
In his message, Dir. Pauig emphasized the benefits of drinking water (provided by MNWD) straight from the tap as opposed to bottled water. According to him, MNWD ensures that tap water is clean and safe to drink following strict measures and standards. It contains more minerals compared to the bottled water sold in the market.
In celebration of MNWD’s 40th year, the District is given the opportunity to give back to the community, which have fuelled our growth and sustainability for the past years. The activity enabled us to show our appreciation to our customers more so, extending our love and compassion to the children who shall continue the MNWD’s legacy towards the protection of our water resources and the environment.
